Meet our Lead Teacher: Julie
My name is Julie and I’m a mom of 3 who loves exploring nature with my family. I’m originally from New Hampshire where I worked at a little school in the woods. It’s there that my love for teaching through nature explore began. I moved to Va in 2008 and began my work as a post partum doula and continued my work teaching by opening my own preschool, Natural Beginnings. It closed in 2018 and I have spent the last year teaching K/1 at Seven Rivers. I have loved teaching and adventuring with my 6 year old all year and hope to continue teaching her next year while offering homeschool care to local families.

Meet our Camp Staff: Phoebe, Jennifer, and Teresa
Hello! My name is Phoebe and I am a rising fourth-year student at UVa. Before moving to Charlottesville, I lived in Annandale, Virginia. For about 6 years, I led and curated tennis camps suited for ages 2 and up throughout the summers then continued as the head instructor for after-school programming. Before coming to Little Planets, I also worked as an operations and events intern at a modern kids play space right outside of DC. I am looking forward to hosting summer camps this year at Little Planets!
I attended NC State University and have an BA in Spanish Language and Literature, a BS in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management, and a Masters in Small-scale Rural Tourism Networks. I have worked in childcare, the service industry, with wineries, and the Tourism Extension Service.
I look forward to sharing nature play and other adventures with you and your kids. I attended the University of Georgia where I earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Agronomy. I am now retired from a 30+ year career as a Natural Resource Conservationist. I have always loved children and sharing the wonders of the natural environment.
